The National Weather Service in Paducah forecasts a significant shift in the weather pattern for the upcoming week, promising a stretch of pleasant conditions before a change arrives for the weekend.
The period from Today through Thursday is expected to be largely dry and seasonable. Residents can anticipate abundant sunshine and comfortable temperatures, with highs generally ranging through the 60s and low 70s. The only exception will be a stray, isolated shower possible late Monday night.
This quiet pattern, however, is not forecast to last. Meteorologists indicate a shift will begin on Friday, bringing a 30 to 50 percent chance of showers that is expected to continue into Saturday. Along with the return of rain, a cooldown is anticipated. Highs on Friday are predicted to dip into the upper 50s and lower 60s, slightly below normal for this time of year, before moderating back to the low 60s on Saturday.
The National Weather Service will continue to monitor the developing system to refine the exact timing and coverage of the potential weekend rainfall.
