EDWARDS COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT NEWS

56-year old Frank L. Eaton of Albion, Illinois, was sentenced on September 19th to a total of 4-years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by a term of 6-months of Mandatory Supervised Release (formerly known as “parole”) for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class 4 Felony, in Edwards County Case No. 2023-CF-45. Edwards County State’s Attorney Eric A. St Ledger prosecuted the case on behalf of the People of the State of Illinois and Mr. Eaton was represented by Attorney Roger White. The case was investigated by the Edwards County Sheriff’s Department.

58-year old Wayne L. Davis of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, was sentenced on October 10th to a total of 3-years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by a term of 6-months of Mandatory Supervised Release (formerly known as “parole”) for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, a Class 3 Felony, in Edwards County Case No. 2024-CF-12. Edwards County State’s Attorney Eric A. St Ledger prosecuted the case on behalf of the People of the State of Illinois and Mr. Eaton was represented by Public Defender, T.J. Parrish. The case was investigated by the Edwards County Sheriff’s Department.

40-year old Daniel D. Seibert of Grayville, Illinois, was sentenced on October 17th to a total of 6-years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by a term of 1-year of Mandatory Supervised Release (formerly known as “parole”) for Aggravated Battery of a Peace Officer, a Class 2 Felony, in Edwards County Case No. 2024-CF-31. Edwards County State’s Attorney Eric A. St Ledger prosecuted the case on behalf of the People of the State of Illinois and Mr. Seibert was represented by Public Defender, T.J. Parrish. The case was investigated by the Grayville Police Department with the assistance of the Albion Police Department.

49-year old Edward J. Piland of Albion, Illinois, was sentenced on September 30th to a total of 3-years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by a term of 1-year of Mandatory Supervised Release (formerly known as “parole”) for Aggravated Battery of a Peace Officer and Aggravated Intimidation, both Class 2 Felonies, in Edwards County Case No. 2025-CF-19. Edwards County State’s Attorney Eric A. St Ledger prosecuted the case on behalf of the People of the State of Illinois and Mr. Piland was represented by Public Defender, T.J. Parrish. The case was investigated by the Edwards County Sheriff’s Department with the assistance of the Grayville Police Department.

61-year old Scott A. Funkhouser of Grayville, Illinois, was sentenced on September 19th to a total of 8-years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by a term of 6-months of Mandatory Supervised Release (formerly known as “parole”) for Unlawful Failure to Register as a Violent Offender Against Youth and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, both Class 3 Felonies, in Edwards County Case Nos. 2024-CF-9 & 2024-CF-22. Judge Crisel ordered that the sentences in each case are to run concurrently. Edwards County State’s Attorney Eric A. St Ledger prosecuted the case on behalf of the People of the State of Illinois and Mr. Funkhouser was represented by Public Defender, T.J. Parrish. The cases were investigated by the Edwards County Sheriff’s Department and the Grayville Police Department.
