The Fairfield Grade School District Board of Education met Monday night to review financial reports, discuss facility needs, and address personnel changes.
Superintendent Kristina Gardner reported that the district has received 15% of its revenue and expended 22% of its budget so far for Fiscal Year 2026. The food service account remains strong, with a current balance of $257,076.32. No new business was reported in the transportation department this month.
The board discussed the ongoing need for new band instruments and repairs. Four new instruments have been purchased, and the district plans to continue replacing equipment through grants.
Building maintenance was another focus, with Gardner noting an upcoming Regional Office of Education inspection and a 10-year Health Life Safety review scheduled for next year. The board is considering applying for a recently released maintenance grant, open until January 30, and will begin evaluating costs for a new roof on the North Side building.
The district’s auditors, Dennis Rose and Associates, have been granted an extension for the Fiscal Year 2025 audit, with the new deadline set for December 31.
Gardner also shared the latest Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) data, including a performance level summary report.
In personnel matters, the board accepted the resignation of Amelia Lingafelter as cross country coach following a closed session.
