EFFINGHAM POLICE INVESTIGATE DEATH AT PETRO TRUCK STOP

On Sunday around 11:30 a.m., Effingham City Police responded to a report of an unresponsive man at the Petro Truck Stop. Officers found 53-year-old Rodney Mangum of Harrisville, Mississippi, near the gas pumps. Mangum was taken to St. Anthony Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:55 a.m. The coroner’s office is investigating, with medical records requested from Mangum’s family and physician.
