CLAY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARRESTS FLORA MAN FOR FAILURE TO REGISTER AS VIOLENT OFFENDER

The Clay County Sheriff’s Department is in the process of conducting its annual Illinois Sex Offender/Violent Offender Registration Compliance Checks. During these efforts, on October 16th, deputies discovered an individual was not in compliance with violent offender registration requirements.

Murl A. Bridges, 41, of Flora, was taken into custody at a residence in Clay City. Bridges was arrested on Clay and Wayne County warrants for Unlawful Failure to Register as a Violent Offender Against Youth. He was also issued a Notice of Arrest without Warrant for a new offense of the same charge.

Bridges was denied pretrial release and is currently being held in the Clay County Jail.
