Alec Burleson and Brendan Donovan were both named as finalists for the National League Silver Slugger award at the utility position. This marks the first time a college coach has made a jump to the majors without either coaching or playing in the pros. (Fort Collins, CO) — Colorado State is losing its former starting quarterback to the transfer portal. The Coloradoan is reporting that Rams QB Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi has left the program and is expected to enter the portal after the school fired coach Jay Norvell on Sunday. The redshirt junior started 28 games for the Rams and currently ranks sixth among all active Group of Five quarterbacks with 6,938 career passing yards. He also totaled 45 touchdowns and 34 turnovers during his four seasons in Fort Collins. Fowler-Nicolosi was benched for backup Jackson Brousseau on September 20th and has not appeared in a game since.

New York has six points and will host the Detroit Red Wings Thursday night.

(Ivins, UT) — Matt McCarty will be looking to defend his crown at the Bank of Utah Championship. McCarty won last year’s tournament after finishing atop the leaderboard by three strokes at Black Desert Resort. The 27-year-old will be alongside Billy Horschel and Maverick McNealy for the first and second rounds. Ryan Palmer, Greyson Sigg and Isaiah Salinda will be among the first group of players teeing off round one in Ivins.
