Carol Lee Cox, 83, of Crossville

On October 29,2025, Carol Lee Cox went to be with her Lord and Savior.
Carol was born on January 26, 1942, in Salem, Illinois. Her parents were Paul and Agnes Ellis. Carol Graduated from Drumright High School in Oklahoma in 1959.
On February 5, 1965, she married the love of her life, Larry Cox. They had 60 years of laughter and love. Although she graduated in Drumright, she was a proud Crossville Tiger and an honorary Crossville Alumnus and along with her husband Larry, hosted annual Ice Cream Socials and Weiner Roasts for years for all returning Crossville Alumni members. She was always involved in the Crossville community from working at Rawlinson’s Grocery, the Crossville bank, driving grain trucks to the old Crossville Elevator and also a Rural Mail Carrier for Crossville for 18 years and enjoyed playing the “Grinch” in the Crossville Christmas Parade for years. She was truly proud of Crossville and it showed. On the farm she was always busy and a regular fixture on the combines and planting tractors with her husband Larry.
She is survived by her brother Bill (Ann) Ellis and her sister Sue (Jody) Basham. She was a proud mother to Paula Cox, Sonya (Leonard) Wolfe, Larry Cox Jr. and Brad (Jocelyn) Cox. She was the proud Nana to Debra Cox, Larry (Naydean) Cox, Josh (Holly) Cox, Sean (Elizabeth) Cox, Willow Cox and Autumn Cox. She was also proud to have several Great Grand Children.
She was preceded in death by four siblings, Betty (Dave) Davis, Shirley (Harold) Kimmel, Roy (Jackie) Ellis and Agnes June Ellis.
She could often be found taking Grandkids and Great Grandkids for rides on golf carts or her 1954 Chevy truck “Old Betsy”.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the chapel at Roberts and Cook Funeral Service, 108 West Main Street, Crossville, Illinois, with Jim Whetstone officiating. Burial will follow immediately at Stokes Chapel Cemetery in Crossville. Family and friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Carol’s memory may be made to one of the following organizations, Salvation Army, Shriners or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and will be accepted at Roberts and Cook Funeral Service who has been entrusted with the arrangements.
