EDWARDS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARINGS AND REGULAR MEETING MONDAY

The Edwards County Board of Commissioners will meet on Monday, November 3rd at the Edwards County Courthouse. The day will begin with two public hearings before the board’s regular session.

At 8:30 a.m., commissioners will hold a hearing on a proposed amendment to the Edwards County Solar Ordinance, followed by an 8:45 a.m. hearing on a proposed county levy increase.

The regular meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m., with agenda items including reports from the sheriff, treasurer, highway department, and health office. Commissioners are expected to consider and approve the amended solar ordinance, a new TB Board appointment, and a board appointment for the Little Wabash Fire Protection District.

Other items include:

Changing the IMRF authorized agent from Mary Beth Smith to Melanie Knight.

Discussion of Air Evac insurance coverage options.

Farmland lease for county-owned land for the 2026 crop year.

Approval of the 2026 holiday and meeting schedule.

A State’s Attorneys Appellate Prosecutor resolution.

Approval to hire Assistant Public Defender Caleb Cross.

Consideration and adoption of the FY 2026 budget, with a presentation by Dustin Harmon of Bellwether, LLC.

The board will also hear updates regarding the county highway building, landfill, and EMS, review correspondence, and approve payment of claims before adjourning.
