The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Sunday evening around 5:45 p.m. on Interstate 64 westbound at milepost 98.
A 2020 Toyota utility vehicle, driven by 57-year-old Tonya Hart of Quincy, Illinois, struck a deer in the roadway, causing the vehicle to leave the road.
Hart and a 53-year-old female passenger were transported by Wayne City Ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon for treatment of injuries.
