Mill Shoals native Larry Dozier will be the featured speaker at Fairfield’s Veterans Day observance, set for Tuesday, November 11th at 11 a.m. in the Veterans Section of Maple Hill Cemetery.
Dave Land will serve as emcee, with Chief Warrant Officer 2 Caleb Koker offering the invocation and Elizabeth Scarbrough performing the National Anthem.

Following Dozier’s address, Fairfield VFW Commander Dick Price and Fairfield American Legion Commander Tom Seaman will present a wreath in honor of the unknown service member. The ceremony will conclude with a 21-gun salute and Taps, performed by Doug Aman.

After the service, lunch will be served at Cornerstone Community Church, located at the corner of First and Delaware Streets. Guests are asked to enter through the west parking lot door.

A graduate of the University of Illinois, Dozier worked as an engineer developing major water projects in the western U.S. He and his wife, Marti, reside on a ranch near Cortez, Colorado, where they raise hay and care for horses.

Dozier has been a member of the Springerton American Legion Post for more than 40 years, and both he and his wife are members of the Fairfield VFW Auxiliary.
