The St. Louis Blues surrendered four goals in the second period during a 6-1 loss to the Washington Capitals at Capital One Arena. The Blues trailed 5-0 before Alexey Toropchenko scored St. Louis’ only goal in the first minute of the third period. St. Louis has dropped eight of its last nine games. The Blues look to get back in the win column when they visit the Buffalo Sabres at KeyBank Center this evening. The Blues are at the bottom of the Central Division with ten points and a 4-8-and-2 record. Tonight’s game starts at 6:00PM.

The Chicago Blackhawks scored five goals in the third period during a 5-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena. Tyler Bertuzzi broke a scoreless tie in the fourth minute of the period and added two more goals before the end of the game. Ilya Mikheyev and Connor Bedard also lit the lamp in the victory. The Hawks are in fifth place in the Central Division with 15 points. They visit the Flames tomorrow night.

(Undated) — A Thursday Night Football matchup between AFC West rivals kick off Week 10 of the NFL regular season. The division-leading Broncos battle the Raiders from Denver. Meanwhile, an international game is back on the slate for Sunday when the Falcons and Colts square off from Berlin. The Patriots and Buccaneers clash from Tampa to highlight the afternoon games while Sunday Night Football features the Steelers and Chargers dueling from Los Angeles. The Eagles and Packers finish off the week with a Monday Night Football showdown from Lambeau Field.

(Houston, TX) — The Texans will be turning to Davis Mills as their starting quarterback for the team’s Week 10 contest. Houston starter C.J. Stroud will not play Sunday because of a concussion that knocked him out of the team’s loss to the Denver Broncos last week. Head coach DeMeco Ryans said that Stroud was feeling a little bit better, but will not be cleared in time to play against the AFC South rival Jacksonville Jaguars. The matchup will be Stroud’s first game missed due to injury since Weeks 15 and 16 of his rookie campaign. Mills is 5-19-and-1 as a starter during his career and has passed for 6,327 yards, 35 touchdowns and 25 interceptions.

(Tempe, AZ) — The Cardinals will be without their starting quarterback for the foreseeable future. Arizona is placing Kyler Murray on injured reserve as he continues to recover from a foot injury that he suffered in Week Five. Head coach Jonathan Gannon said that the injury is not season-ending, but Murray will miss at least the next four games with a chance to return to the field if he gets healthy. The earliest that the 28-year-old would be eligible to return is in Week 14 against the Los Angeles Rams. Veteran signal caller Jacoby Brissett will continue as the team’s starter with Kedon Slovis as his backup.

(Florham Park, NJ) — The Jets are making changes on defense. On the heels of trading stars Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams, veteran linebacker Quincy Williams has been told that he is being demoted. Williams expects to be active for Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns, but described himself as a “non-starting Jet.” Rookie Kiko Mauigoa is the top candidate to replace Williams in the lineup.

(Pittsburgh, PA) — A Packers reunion is happening in Pittsburgh. Marquez Valdes-Scantling [[ mar-KWEZ ]] spoke to the media on Wednesday for the first time since joining Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers. Scantling said the future Hall of Famer is the “best that ever played the game” and is the reason he signed with the team. The receiver-quarterback tandem spent four seasons in Green Bay.

(Undated) — Jazz center Walker Kessler will undergo season-ending surgery to fix a torn labrum in his left shoulder, the team announced on Wednesday. Kessler averaged 14.4 points and 10.8 rebounds in five games this season. He is set to become a restricted free agent following the season.

MLB officials announced on Wednesday that Spring Training will begin on February 20th with seven games on the schedule. The Yankees, Cubs, Padres and Red Sox are all in action while the Dodgers take the field the day after. The Yanks and Giants square off from San Francisco to open the regular season on March 25th.

(Atlanta, GA) — The Braves are bringing back their 2024 Cy Young winner. ESPN reports the team exercised Chris Sale’s 18-million-dollar option for next year. The ace went 7-and-5 last season with an ERA just under two-point-six in almost 126 innings pitched. The 36-year-old missed about two months with a fractured rib cage. Sale won the triple crown for leading the NL in wins, ERA and strikeouts the previous year.

(Washington, DC) — Capitals forward Alexander Ovechkin made history again. The 40-year-old scored his 900th career goal in Washington’s matchup with the St. Louis Blues. He is the first player in league history to reach that mark. This season, Ovechkin has three goals and five assists in 13 games.

(Cabo San Lucas, Mexico) — Austin Eckroat will be looking to defend his title when the World Wide Technology Championship tees off from Cabo San Lucas.
