Robert “Bob” Gerold Conklin, age 93, formerly of Flora, Illinois, passed away October 27, 2025, in Bradenton, Florida.
He was born February 27, 1932, in Jackson, Michigan, the son of Harold and Lenora Conklin. He was united in marriage to Lavonne Mae Burman on July 17, 1952, in Bermuda while serving in the U.S. Air Force. In 1960, the family moved to Flora, Illinois, where Bob would open Sparton Manufacturing.
Together they had 3 children all of whom survive: Diane (David) Hemphill of Flora, Steve (Rita) Conklin of Hudson, Florida, and Dan (Teri) Conklin of Iuka. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Lavonne passed away on January 24, 1991. Bob later remarried and moved to Bradenton, Florida where he enjoyed taking photos of the Florida habitat, especially Blue Herons, attending sporting events, and simply enjoying life.
He was preceded in passing by his parents; wife; and a sister: Virginia (Bill) McCluskey.
