On Tuesday, the Midland Trail Conference released its list of Volleyball All-Conference Players. Wayne City Coach Lamar Choate was named Coach of the Year and Wayne City’s Rylie Backes was named Player of the Year. Other players named First Team All-Conference were Emma Griswold, Abi Lane, Addison Caldwell, and Kenzie Seidel from Wayne City; Kaleya Porter, Ava Greifzu, and Peyton Cordill from Cisne; Hayden Barton and Kamryn Knapp from Woodlawn; Emma Buschiini from Grayville; and Eden Knight from Webber. The Chicago Blackhawks picked up a point during a 4-3 overtime loss to the New Jersey Devils at United Center. The Hawks surrendered a game-tying goal with under four minutes left in regulation before allowing the game-winner in the fourth minute of OT. Connor Bedard, Landon Slaggert, and Sam Lafferty all lit the lamp in the losing effort. Chicago is tied for third place in the Central Division with 20 points. The Blackhawks host Toronto on Saturday.
The Blues will try to extend their point streak to four games when they host the Philadelphia Flyers at Enterprise Center tomorrow night. The Blues are coming off a 3-2 win over the Calgary Flames at home on Tuesday night. St. Louis is in seventh place in the Central Division with 15 points.

Brown had two catches for 13 yards in Monday’s win over the Packers.

Meanwhile, linebacker Mack Wilson Sr. will miss his second straight game with a ribs injury, while edge Baron Browning is in concussion protocol. The 3-and-6 Cards host the 6-and-4 49ers on Sunday.

(Miami, FL) — The Dolphins head coach is “forever indebted” to a fellow colleague. Mike McDaniel told the media on Wednesday that Dan Quinn was one of several coaches to help him reach sobriety. The current Commanders head honcho, along with Falcons and 49ers coaches Raheem Morris and Kyle Shanahan, all met with McDaniel back in 2016 to address his drinking problem. He got fired from the Texans after it impacted his performance.

(Dallas, TX) — The Mavericks will be without their star big man until the team owner approves his return to the court. ESPN is reporting that Dallas forward Anthony Davis will not be given the green light until medical data indicating that he will not aggravate his left calf strain is shown to team governor Patrick Dumont. The 32-year-old has missed the past seven games due to the injury and has been listed as questionable for the last three. Davis has played in only 14 games since arriving in Dallas as the headliner in the return of the controversial Luka Doncic trade last spring.

(Oklahoma City, OK) — The defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder put together a dominant showing in a 121-92 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers at the Paycom Center. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander paced OKC with 30 points in a game that the team led by as many as 37. Isaiah Joe came off the bench to contribute 21 points as the Thunder improved to 12-and-1. Luka Doncic had a team-high 19 points for LA in the setback. The Lakers have lost two of three to fall to 8-and-4.

(San Antonio, TX) — Stephen Curry led the Warriors to a 125-120 win over San Antonio in the Lone Star State. Curry put up a season-high 46 points to pace Golden State. Victor Wembanyama led the way for the Spurs with 31 points to go along with 15 rebounds and 10 assists for his first triple-double of the season. Stephon Castle had a triple-double of his own with 23 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. The Spurs had a three-game winning streak snapped to dip to 8-and-3 this season.

(Undated) — The Clippers will be without their major offseason acquisition for the rest of the season. Los Angeles guard Bradley Beal is set to undergo season-ending surgery on a fracture in his left hip. Beal’s agent said that the three-time All-Star will have a full and complete recovery after a unanimous decision between team doctors and other specialists to have the surgery. The 32-year-old averaged 8.2 points through six games played this season. He joined LA on a two-year, 11-million-dollar deal with a player option that potentially allows him to hit free agency again next summer.

(Las Vegas, NV) — MLB’s general manager meetings wrap up in Sin City on Thursday. Next up in the offseason schedule in the league owners meetings, which will be held next week in New York. On Wednesday, the Cy Young Awards were handed out. Tigers southpaw Tarik Skubal won the American League award for the second season in a row, wile Paul Skenes of the Pirates was the unanimous honoree in the NL. The MVP Awards and All-MLB Teams will be given out on Thursday.

(Southampton Parish, Bermuda) — Rafael Campos will be looking to defend his title when the Butterfield Bermuda Championship tees off. Campos won last year’s tournament by three strokes after finishing atop the leaderboard at 19 under par. The 37-year-old will be alongside Michael Brennan and Sahith Theegala for the first and second rounds. Ryo Hisatsune, Max McGreevy and Hayden Springer will be among the first group of players teeing off round one.
