U.S. Representative Mike Bost announced that the Continuing Resolution passed by Congress includes $1.4 million for three key projects in his district, pending presidential approval.

Jefferson Fire Protection District is awarded $253,365 for a new fire station headquarters and regional training facility. The state-of-the-art center will offer realistic training scenarios to better prepare firefighters serving a 230-square-mile area.

City of Sesser will receive $471,000 for water system improvements, replacing nearly 2,500 feet of outdated water mains with new PVC piping to ensure safer, more reliable service.

Effingham Fire Department will receive $700,000 toward replacing its 25-year-old platform ladder truck, enhancing firefighting and rescue operations, especially for multi-story residential and healthcare buildings. The City of Effingham will cover the remaining costs. Mayor Mike Schutzbach thanked Rep. Bost for helping reduce the tax burden and speed up the project.
