Kylar VanMatre of rural Albion and a member of the Edwards County Blue Ribbon 4-H Club achieved outstanding results at the 102nd annual American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA) National Show, held recently in Indianapolis.
VanMatre brought several rabbits to compete at the event, which featured more than 26,000 entries from across the nation. He returned home with an impressive haul of awards, including three first-place and five second-place finishes.
Among his accomplishments, Kylar’s Holland Lop Buck placed 2nd in a highly competitive class featuring 141 entries. He also earned the title of Best Intermediate Blue New Zealand Doe, 1st place Chocolate Satin Senior Doe, 1st and 2nd place Chocolate Satin Junior Does, 2nd place Blue-eyed White Netherland Dwarf, and 2nd place Lilac Mini Rex.
Kylar is an 8th grader at Albion Grade School and is the son of Kimberley VanMatre.
