The Illinois Eastern Community College District Board of Trustees met Tuesday night and approved several updates to district policies, agreements, and personnel matters. Trustees approved revisions to the Definition of Full-Time Employment, updating the former “Coal Mining Technology” designation to “Mining and Industrial Training” and removing outdated references to a nine-month full-time position no longer in use. Additional minor edits were made for clarity and consistency.
The Board also approved affiliation agreements with Little Company of Mary Hospital of Indiana, Inc., doing business as Deaconess Memorial Medical Center, and SSM Health.
Revisions were made to the 2025 Board of Trustees meeting schedule to include a special working meeting on December 9, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Wabash Valley College. No formal action will be taken during that session. The Board’s regular December meeting will follow at 5:00 p.m. the same day, also at Wabash Valley College.
Trustees approved the District’s estimated tax levy for tax year 2025, which will be collected in 2026. In compliance with the Truth in Taxation Act, the Board also approved a resolution to hold a public tax levy hearing on December 9 at Wabash Valley College. The District’s estimated aggregate tax rate is approximately 44 cents per $100 of equalized assessed value—about two cents lower than last year’s rate.
The Board approved an insurance-covered roof repair for the Rowland-Nicholas Natatorium at a cost of $83,966. Trustees also authorized the use of a managed pricing strategy for the District’s next electricity supply contract when the current agreement expires in 2026. Additional compensation was approved for Julie DeHart for her role as Medical Lab Technician Program Director during the Fall 2025 semester. A leave request for an IECC employee was also approved.
