RAIN RETURNS TONIGHT, FOLLOWED BY SIGNIFICANT COOL-DOWN FOR THANKSGIVING WEEK

The National Weather Service reports that another round of rain will move into the area starting tonight (Monday) and continue through Tuesday. Rainfall totals are expected to generally range from one-third of an inch up to one inch across the region.

The bigger story for the latter part of the week is a significant drop in temperatures. After the rain moves through, a cold air mass will settle in, bringing much cooler conditions for Thanksgiving week. Temperatures from Wednesday through Friday are forecast to be 5 to 10 degrees below average, resulting in a noticeably chillier stretch leading up to the holiday.

Looking ahead to the holiday weekend, Saturday is expected to start off dry. However, meteorologists are monitoring developing weather systems that could bring showers back to the area from Saturday night through Sunday. While the details are still being tracked, it appears that the holiday weekend may conclude with some wet weather.
