Guatemalan National Pleads Not Guilty To Federal Identity Crimes
A Guatemalan national who was convicted of killing two Chicago area woman in a drunk driving crash in Urbana faces federal charges in another case. Julio Cucul-Bol pleaded not guilty to several charges, including possession of a false permanent resident card. An indictment claims that in November 2023, Cucul-Bol falsely stated that his name was Juan Jahaziel Saenz Suarez in an application to JPMorgan Chase Bank. He was also accused of possessing phony Permanent Resident and Social Security cards. He pleaded guilty last month to a hit and run crash earlier this year in Urbana that left Chloe Polzin of Deerfield and Katherine Abraham of Glenview dead. He was sentenced to 30-years in prison.
Illinois Releases First Weekend of Firearm Deer Season Totals
Illinois is releasing preliminary totals for the first weekend of the firearm deer season. The first weekend of the Illinois firearm deer season took place between November 21st and 23rd. Hunters in Illinois harvested more than 51-thousand deer. That is less than the first firearm weekends in 2023 and 2024.
Public Should Buckle Up And Drive Sober This Thanksgiving
The Illinois Department of Transportation, Illinois State Police and law enforcement across the state are reminding the public to buckle up and drive sober this Thanksgiving. Drivers will see hundreds of additional seat belt enforcement zones and patrols looking for seat belt law violators and drug-and alcohol-impaired drivers through next Tuesday. During the Thanksgiving holiday weekend last year in Illinois, 15 people were killed in crashes. One of the crashes involved an impaired driver.
