Roger A. Gammon, 77, of Fairfield

Roger A. Gammon, 77, of Fairfield, passed away at 8:28am on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.  He had worked as a truck driver for Barnard’s Soil Service in Wayne City, IL and, was also a veteran of the United States Army.

Roger was born on February 6, 1948, in Mt. Vernon, IL, to “Little Bill” and Betty (Quinn) Gammon. On June 5, 1976, he married the love of his life, LaDonna Gammon, who preceded him in death in 2013.

Survivors include his children Kevin (Amy) Gammon of Mt. Carmel, IL, and Misty Cook (Aaron Tislow) of Fairfield, his grandchildren Kyler Gammon and Ava Gammon, his brothers Harold Gammon, and Brad Gammon both of Mt. Vernon, IL, and Billy Gammon of Wayne City, IL, his sisters Larita “Sherry” Rutherford, Crystal (Vince) Wagner, and Cynthia Bruce all of Mt. Vernon, IL, Danita Breaux (Ronnie Williams) of Wayne City, IL, his half-sister Diane Myers of West Jordan, UT, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife LaDonna Gammon, his grandson Trask Smith, his brother Kerry Gammon, and his sisters Tina Garrison and Winifred Gammon.

Funeral services for Roger Gammon will be at 1pm on Wednesday, December 3rd, at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield, with burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11am until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to The Roads Church-Mt.
