Judith Ann Cutchin, 79, of Carmi, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. She was born on Monday, March 4, 1946, in Carmi, to parents, Kempton and Elouise (Green) Fieber. The early years through elementary school were spent in the Crossville area. Then in 1960, the family moved to Carmi and she attended high school there. Judy graduated with the class of 1964. Upon graduation, she was employed in the White County Clerk’s office. In 1967, Judy married Stanton L. Cutchin. The ceremony took place in First Christian Church in Carmi, with Danny Martin officiating. In the fall of that year, the couple moved to Charleston, Illinois. Judy took college classes to prepare for a career in medical transcription. She worked at hospitals in Charleston and Mattoon. In 1975, they moved to Mattoon, Illinois, where they worked and raised their family for 34 years. They were members of Broadway Christian Church, where they taught Sunday School and Bible School, as well as Women’s leadership roles. In 2000, the couple retired and returned to the Carmi area. Judy and Stan were members of First Christian Church once more. The couple were members of the White County Historical Society, with Judy being a board member for several years. The couple also served as election judges for a number of years. Judy enjoyed flower gardening, sewing, crafting, decorating, knitting, crocheting, reading and working puzzles. Judy is survived by her husband, Stanton L. Cutchin of Carmi, IL; three daughters, Crystal Dawn (Bryce) Tracy of Carmi, IL, Marnie Lynn (Ed) Blade of Toledo, IL. and Amber Nicole (Neill) Wheeler of Morehead City, NC; grandchildren, Dylan Tracy, Ashley (Riley) Smith, Taylor (Sawyer) Elliott, Mitchell Blade, Colton Wheeler and Emma Wheeler; great-grandchildren, Masen, Meredith, Amelia, Gwendolyn and Vanessa. She is preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025, in the chapel at Roberts and Cook Funeral Service, 101 Edgewood Lane, Carmi, Illinois, with Pastor Greg Grant officiating. Burial will follow immediately at Big Prairie Cemetery in Carmi. Friends and family may visit from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family requests contributions be made in Judy’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Tunnels to Towers or The White County Historical Society and will be accepted at the funeral home. Roberts and Cook Funeral Service has been entrusted with arrangements.
