On Wednesday night, the FCHS Mules Boys Wrestling team opened their season on the road at Harrisburg, losing the match 40-28. In Varsity action Fairfield picked up 5 wins on the evening. At 113 lbs. Carter Poole pinned Connor Crowder, at 120 lbs. Carlos Hernandez picked up a forfeit victory, at 132 lbs. Lane Witucki picked up a forfeit, at 144 lbs. Vance Vanway pinned Ethan Stefko, and at 157 lbs. Grant Otey outpointed Dwayne Trammel 15-4. On the JV side, Carter Johnson outpointed Chance Lampley 3-0. The Mules will be back in action on Saturday at the Lawrence County Tournament.

Kansas City coach Andy Reid said that left tackle Josh Simmons will be placed on injured reserve after undergoing surgery to repair his dislocated and fractured left wrist. The rookie first-rounder sustained the injury in the team’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving when he collided with running back Kareem Hunt late in the third quarter. This season, he has caught 37 passes for 322 yards and five touchdowns.

(Cleveland, OH) — The quarterback carousel in Cleveland is about to add another contestant. The Browns opened the practice window for Deshaun Watson on Wednesday. The team has 21 days to add him to the active roster. The 30-year-old was dealing with an Achilles injury he suffered last season and re-tore it, which required a second surgery. Watson has played just 19 games for Cleveland due to injuries or suspension since 2022.

The 38-year-old spent seven seasons in the NFL as a receiver before coaching at his alma mater.

ESPN is reporting that former K-State star quarterback and Texas A&M’s current offensive coordinator Collin Klein is the target for the job. (Undated) — The Stars have received another injury blow to their lineup. Dallas forward Tyler Seguin [[ SAY-gihn ]] is expected to miss the remainder of the season with a torn ACL in his right knee. (Chicago, IL) — The Chicago White Sox are importing some talent into their rotation. The Southsiders signed starting pitcher Anthony Kay to a two-year deal worth 12-million dollars yesterday. Kay has been in Japan the last two seasons, and he hasn’t pitched in the MLB since 2023. He had a 6.14 ERA in 16 appearances between the Mets and Cubs that season.
