The Fairfield Fire Department responded swiftly to a house fire at 413 E. Curry Street Thursday morning. The call came in at approximately 10:25 a.m. after the resident discovered a fire in a bedroom and immediately reported it.
Fairfield Fire Chief, Andrew Miller says firefighters arrived on scene within three minutes of dispatch and launched an interior attack, successfully extinguishing the blaze in less than ten minutes. Thanks to their rapid response, fire damage was limited to the bedroom, with only minor smoke damage reported throughout the rest of the residence.
No injuries were reported, as the occupant was able to safely exit the home. The cause of the fire has been determined to be improperly discarded smoking materials.
