The Clothesline in Fairfield is once again teaming up with the Midwest Food Bank to support local families in need this holiday season. The annual Christmas Food Basket Giveaway is scheduled for Saturday, December 13th, from 7 to 10 a.m. at the Midwest Food Bank building, just south of the Fairfield Police Station.
Monetary donations to help fund the event are being accepted and can be dropped off at The Clothesline or mailed to P.O. Box 15, Fairfield, IL. Checks should be made payable to The Clothesline.
Organizers note that last year’s event had a significant impact, with 400 food baskets distributed to area families. They hope to meet or surpass that number this year, thanks to the ongoing generosity of the community.
North Side Grade School also contributed to the effort, holding a food drive and collecting a large amount of food and monetary donations. These contributions will be included in each basket and have provided a tremendous boost to the program.
