The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced this week that Wisconsin-based Fromm Family Foods has voluntarily recalled 300 cases of its frozen dog food due to possible plastic contamination.

The recall affects Bonnihill Farms Beefi Bowls Beef Recipe, a gently cooked frozen dog food product. The company initiated the recall after receiving complaints from customers regarding plastic fragments found in the food. So far, no illnesses or injuries have been reported in connection with the product.

The recalled dog food was sold at pet stores in 12 states across the U.S. as well as in Canada. Pet owners who purchased the affected product are advised to stop feeding it to their pets and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Fromm Family Foods has stated that it is working closely with retailers and regulatory agencies to remove the affected product from shelves and prevent further issues.
