WAYNE COUNTY BOARD TO HOLD REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 11TH AT COURTHOUSE

The Wayne County Board will meet for its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, December 11th at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the upstairs courtroom of the Wayne County Courthouse.

Board members are expected to approve the minutes from the November meeting before opening the floor to public comments and welcoming any guests in attendance.

Chairman’s comments and possible appointments will follow before the board addresses any old business.

A series of office reports are scheduled, including a key resolution from the Highway Department to appropriate $121,000.00 in Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) funds for the salary of Dennis Seidel, the Highway Department Engineer. Additional reports will be presented by the State’s Attorney, Circuit Clerk, Sheriff, County Clerk, Treasurer, Supervisor of Assessments, Coroner, and Health Department.

New business on the agenda includes an update on the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) if applicable, discussion of sales tax matters, and the possibility of entering executive session. Should executive session be necessary, the board will vote accordingly.

Committee reports will cover a range of topics such as claims and finance—including payment of bills—Sheriff’s Office matters, Emergency Management Agency (EMA) updates, animal control and welfare, road and bridge issues, insurance and education, building and grounds safety, economic development, rules and policy, and the Liquor Commission.

The meeting will conclude with any additional business and adjournment.
