The FDA has issued its highest consumer risk warning for Doughy brand chocolate chip cookie dough, which was recalled last month by Hudson River Foods due to possible salmonella contamination. The recall has now been classified as a Class I recall, indicating that use of the product could lead to serious health consequences or even death.
Salmonella infection can cause symptoms such as diarrhea, stomach cramps, and vomiting. The affected product consists of 113 units of 12-ounce Doughy brand chocolate chip dough, sold in 15 states, with a “best by” date of July 4, 2026.
Consumers are urged to check their products and avoid using the recalled cookie dough.
