Spencer Knight stood on his head as the Chicago Blackhawks shutout the New York Rangers 3-0 at United Center. Knight stopped all 21 shots he faced in the victory. Louis Crevier and Connor Bedard both scored in the second period, and Tyler Bertuzzi found the back of the net in the third. The Hawks are in fourth place in the Central Division with 32 points. Chicago visits St. Louis tomorrow night.

Washington coach Dan Quinn told reporters Wednesday that Jayden Daniels will miss Sunday’s matchup with the New York Giants. Daniels aggravated the elbow injury that had kept him out of the team’s previous three games during Sunday’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He completed nine of 20 passes for 78 yards with an interception before leaving the game. Marcus Mariota will start in his place.

(Undated) — The NBA Cup semifinals are set. The Oklahoma City Thunder trampled the Phoenix Suns 138-89 in their quarterfinal matchup at the Paycom Center. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had a game-high 28 points and the Thunder tied the NBA record for best start to a season after improving to 24-and-1. In the West’s other quarterfinal, the San Antonio Spurs took down the Los Angeles Lakers 132-119 at Crypto-Dot-Com Arena. Stephon Castle poured in 30 points to help San Antonio advance to the semifinals in Las Vegas. The Thunder and Spurs will now battle for a spot in the NBA Cup Final where the winner will face either the New York Knicks or Orlando Magic. The semifinals will be played Saturday.

(Baltimore, MD) — The Baltimore Orioles are finalizing a deal with All-Star first baseman Pete Alonso. Multiple reports say Alonso’s contract is worth 155-million-dollars over five years. The five-time All-Star has spent his entire seven-year career with the New York Mets. Alonso hit 264 home runs during his time in Queens, including 38 last season.

The Orioles are reportedly signing former Mets first baseman Pete Alonso to a five-year, $155 million contract. Alonso is New York’s all-time home run leader, blasting 264 during his seven seasons in Queens. This season, the 31-year-old hit .272 with 38 home runs and 126 RBIs. In other news, the Rule 5 Draft was held. Twelve teams made selections, including the Rockies, who selected pitcher RJ Petit from the Tigers with the top pick.

The Diamondbacks and Padres were set to play in Mexico City in 2020 before the league postponed the season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 28-year-old spent 2025 at Triple-A Jacksonville. He was 4-and-5 with a 3.61 ERA in 49 appearances last year.

That’s according to ESPN, which reports Moore was turned over to authorities in Pittsfield Township “for investigation into potential charges.” University officials say Moore was fired following an internal investigation that found he was involved in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. Biff Poggi has been named as the program’s interim head coach. Moore took over for Jim Harbaugh, who left for the NFL, following the Wolverines’ national championship in 2023.

(Undated) — The NCAA is accusing a former University of San Francisco basketball player of participating in a sports gambling scheme. Marcus Williams is accused of knowingly sharing information about his statistics in upcoming games with former Fresno State player Mykell Robinson. Robinson was betting on Williams’ stats on daily fantasy sites and was given information ahead of at least nine games during the 2024-25 season. Williams’ agent said his client has never bet on a college basketball game or his own performance. The guard played for the Dons from 2022-to-2025 and was ruled permanently ineligible in September.
