Edwards County Community Unit School District No. 1 Board of Education has scheduled a public hearing tonight (Monday) at 7:00 p.m. in the K-12 Band Room. The hearing will address a proposal to sell bonds to increase the district’s working cash fund and will include an opportunity for public comment.
Immediately following the hearing, the board will hold its regular monthly meeting. The agenda includes administrative reports, review and approval of the December board agenda, minutes from previous meetings, treasurer’s report, December bills, and consideration of FOIA requests. The board will also discuss curriculum proposals, the FY 2025 audit, and multiple student field trips, as well as a memorandum to add high school cross country and approval of projects over $5,000.
Personnel matters such as resignations, employment, volunteers, and leave of absence requests will also be addressed. A closed session is planned for discussion of employee and student matters, after which the board will return to open session for final motions and adjournment. The public is encouraged to attend.
