Former Frontier Community College Head Volleyball Coach, 51-year-old Chet Snyder appeared in Wayne County Circuit Court Tuesday morning on multiple criminal charges, including sexual abuse involving two male victims. Snyder appeared in court with his attorney, Troy Parrish, before Judge Denton Aud. Court records indicate the state has complied with discovery in the case. A By Agreement status conference is set for a pretrial hearing on February 17, 2026, at 11 a.m.

Snyder is charged with two Class 2 felony counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse. One charge alleges inappropriate sexual contact with a juvenile between September and December of 2016. The second charge stems from an incident on August 14, 2025, involving an adult victim.

In addition to the felony charges, Snyder also faces misdemeanor counts of Unlawful Restraint and Unlawful Delivery of Alcohol to a Minor. The unlawful restraint charge alleges Snyder drove one of the victims around Fairfield without allowing him to leave the vehicle. The alcohol-related charge accuses Snyder of providing alcohol to a victim under the age of 21.

The prosecution is being handled by Jennifer Mudge, a former assistant state’s attorney in Madison County who currently serves with the Illinois Appellate Prosecutor’s Office.
