The City of Fairfield has announced changes to the trash collection schedule due to the upcoming Christmas Day and New Year’s Day holidays. Republic Services will operate trash routes on a one-day delay for Thursday, December 25th, and Friday, December 26th.
Residents whose normal trash pickup day is Thursday will have their trash collected on Friday, December 26th. Friday’s regular route will be serviced on Saturday, December 27th.
Additionally, bulk pickup for the city’s 4th Ward will take place on Wednesday, December 24th, instead of the usual date. There will be no bulk pickup on December 25th.
The same schedule adjustments will apply for the New Year’s holiday. On Thursday, January 1st, 2026, trash pickup will move to Friday, January 2nd. The Friday, January 2nd, route will be serviced on Saturday, January 3rd.
