A lengthy investigation into methamphetamine distribution in Wayne County has led to the arrest of an Albion man on multiple felony charges Friday night.
Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop on 37-year-old Kyle O. Hicks of Albion as part of the ongoing investigation. During the stop, deputies attempted to take Hicks into custody on an active warrant obtained through the investigation, charging him with Delivery of Methamphetamine in the amount of 15 to 100 grams, a Class X felony.
Authorities say Hicks resisted arrest and had to be restrained on the ground before being taken into custody without further incident. During the arrest, deputies reportedly found Hicks in possession of approximately 44 grams of methamphetamine.
In addition to the original warrant charge, Hicks now faces several new charges, including Delivery or Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine, Methamphetamine Possession, Resisting or Obstructing a Peace Officer, and Speeding.
Hicks is currently being held in the Wayne County Jail pending an appearance in Wayne County Circuit Court.
