Hamilton Memorial Hospital District (HMHD) and its Family Clinics have announced updated weekend walk-in clinic hours designed to improve patient access and better coordinate with local pharmacy schedules. Effective January 3, 2026, all weekend walk-in services will be consolidated at the McLeansboro Family Clinic, which will be open Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Weekend walk-in hours at the Carmi Family Clinic will be discontinued.
The change comes after a review of patient usage patterns revealed an opportunity to streamline services and increase efficiency. Previously, the Carmi clinic was open on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and closed Sundays, while the McLeansboro clinic operated from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on weekends.
“These updated hours reflect our commitment to providing an efficient, patient-centered experience,” said Justin Epperson, CEO of HMHD. “Aligning with local pharmacy hours and centralizing services will help reduce wait times and prevent unnecessary trips out of town for prescriptions.”
Under the new schedule, HMHD will also implement dedicated weekend clinic staff rather than sharing personnel with the hospital, aiming to offer more consistent service and smoother visits for patients seeking weekend care.
