>>Report: 49ers TE Kittle Has Mid To Low Ankle Sprain
(Santa Clara, CA) — The 49ers have been handed another blow in the injury department. ESPN is reporting that San Francisco tight end George Kittle is dealing with a mid to low ankle sprain. Kittle sustained the injury to his left ankle early in Monday’s win over the Indianapolis Colts by what he perceived as a hip drop tackle. He suggested postgame that he had avoided a high ankle sprain, which would have likely sidelined him for at least the next two weeks.
>>Jets’ Justin Fields Lands On Injured Reserve
(East Rutherford, NJ) — The Jets are shutting down their former starting quarterback. Justin Fields was placed on injured reserve on Tuesday. He was dealing with knee soreness and missed the last three games as a result. The 26-year-old was benched for Tyrod Taylor last month and went just 2-and-7 as a starter. Undrafted rookie Brady Cook will finish the season for New York, which currently holds the fourth pick in April’s draft.
>>Browns’ Deshaun Watson Won’t Return This Season
(Cleveland, OH) — The Browns are playing it slow with their franchise quarterback. Head coach Kevin Stefanski told the media on Tuesday that Deshaun Watson won’t be activated from the physically unable to perform list. The 30-year-old has one year left on a five-year, 230-million dollar, fully-guaranteed contract.
>>Report: Pirates Sign Ryan O’Hearn
(Pittsburgh, PA) — The Pirates are making a relative splash in free agency. ESPN reports the team signed Ryan O’Hearn to a two-year deal worth 29-million dollars. (Kansas City, MO) — The Royals are faced with a tough decision regarding their future home following the Chiefs’ decision to move across the state line to Kansas. Team owner John Sherman has long expressed a desire to build a downtown ballpark, but those plans have been stagnant due to politics and community backlash.
