TWO FAIRFIELD MEN ARRESTED ON THEFT, TRESPASS AND DRUG CHARGES

Two Fairfield men were arrested late Monday night following a report of trespassers at a property just outside of Fairfield.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, at approximately 10:11 p.m. on December 22nd, Wayne County Deputies and the Fairfield Police Department responded to a report of suspicious activity on the property. While checking the area, officers observed two individuals loading vehicle parts onto a trailer.

Authorities identified the suspects as 28-year-old David T. Asher of Fairfield and 33-year-old Johnathan J. Fletcher of Fairfield. Deputies confirmed the pair did not have permission to be on the property or to remove any items and both were taken into custody.

During a search incident to arrest, deputies found Fletcher in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Asher is facing charges of theft and criminal trespass.
Fletcher is facing charges of theft, criminal trespass, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both men were transported to the Wayne County Jail pending a court appearance.
