The St. Louis Blues allowed four goals in the second period during a 7-3 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks at United Center. The game was tied at one entering the period before St. Louis fell apart. Tyler Tucker, Otto Stenberg, and Nathan Walker lit the lamp in the losing effort. The Blues are tied for sixth place in the Central Division with 42 points. They visit Utah tomorrow night. The Blackhawks host Washington tomorrow night.

(Champaign, IL) — The number-16 Illinois Fighting Illini go for their fourth win in a row when they host Rutgers at State Farm Center tonight. The Illini are coming off a 73-65 win over Penn State on the road on Saturday. Illinois is 2-and-1 in Big Ten action and 11-and-3 overall. Tonight’s game tips off at 7:30PM and can be heard on WFIW-AM 1390 and 103.3FM on the Illini Sports Radio Network with pre-game activities starting at 6:30PM.

(Glendale, AZ) — The College Football Playoff semifinals have arrived. Number six Ole Miss will be kicking things off when it battles number 10 Miami in the Fiesta Bowl on Thursday in Glendale. The Rebels have advanced to the CFP semis after collecting wins over number 11 Tulane and number three Georgia. Ole Miss is 13-and-1. The Hurricanes are also hoping to stay hot after beating number seven Texas A and M and number two Ohio State. Miami enters 12-and-2.

(Lake Forest, IL) — The Chicago Bears are still dealing with some injuries heading into the postseason. Safety CJ Gardner-Johnson, linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga, and defensive lineman Joe Tryon-Shoyinka all missed practice with injuries yesterday. Five other players were limited participants, including starting wide receivers Rome Odunze and DJ Moore. The Bears host the Packers in the NFC Wild Card round on Saturday.

According to multiple reports, wide receiver Rashee Rice has been accused of domestic violence by his ex-girlfriend. The supposed victim, Dacoda Nichole, posted multiple photos showing her physical injuries on social media yesterday. The Chiefs released a statement saying that they are aware of the allegations and are in communication with the NFL, but have no further comment at this time.

(Tampa, FL) — The Buccaneers are bringing back their Super Bowl winning head coach. The Tampa Bay Times reports that Todd Bowles avoided the ax. He met with ownership on Tuesday after the firing of Ravens coach John Harbaugh. Bowles earned a three-year extension last offseason but failed to make the playoffs this year. The 62-year-old helped guide the Bucs to a Super Bowl 55 win over the Chiefs.

(Metairie, LA) — The Saints believe they have found their franchise quarterback. New Orleans is preparing to move ahead with Tyler Shough [[ SHUCK ]] as the team’s starting quarterback in 2026. The second-round pick in last year’s draft went 5-and-4 as a starter after taking over the job from Spencer Rattler in November. Shough completed 67.6-percent of his passes for 2,384 yards, 10 touchdowns and six interceptions. He also rushed for 186 yards and three more scores. The Saints hold the eighth-overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft in April.

(Cleveland, OH) — Three people are under arrest in connection with a home break-in of Browns’ quarterback Shedeur Sanders. Ohio authorities say a fourth suspect is still loose, but they have been identified. The arrests stem from a November incident where police say about 200-thousand-dollars in property was stolen while Sanders was making his NFL debut against the Ravens in Cleveland.

(Atlanta, GA) — The Hawks are officially moving on from Trae Young. ESPN reports Atlanta traded the four-time All-Star to the Wizards in exchange for CJ McCollum and Corey Kispert. The 27-year-old spent eight seasons in the Peach State and averaged more than 25 points and nearly 10 assists per game since entering the league in 2018. Young had the nation’s capital as his top destination.

>>Mammoth To Host Avalanche In 2027 Winter Classic

(Salt Lake City, UT) — The Mammoth will host the Avalanche in the 2027 Winter Classic, the NHL announced on Wednesday. The game will be played at Rice-Eccles Stadium on the campus of the University of Utah on a date yet to be announced. This will be the first ever outdoor game for Utah, making it the last NHL franchise to do so. Colorado has played in three outdoor games, most recently in Lake Tahoe during the 2020-21 season.

(Chicago, IL) — The Chicago Cubs are fortifying their starting rotation. The Northsiders traded for Marlins starting pitcher Edward Cabrera on Wednesday. Chicago sent its top prospect Owen Caissie along with infield prospects Cristian Hernandez and Edgardo De Leon back to Miami to complete the deal. Cabrera went 8-and-7 with a 3.53 ERA and 150 strikeouts in 26 starts with the Marlins in 2025.

(Columbus, OH) — For a second straight day, a key player for Ohio State football is heading to the NFL draft. Caleb Downs announced his decision on Wednesday. The safety is projected as a top-10 pick according to several mock drafts. Downs joins teammate and receiver Carnell Tate, who declared for the draft on Tuesday and is also expected to earn a top-10 selection.

(Undated) — Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson is ready for the next step. Simpson announced in an Instagram post that he is forgoing his senior year of college to declare for this year’s NFL draft. In his lone season as the starter for the Crimson Tide he threw for over 35-hundred yards and 28 touchdowns to go along with five interceptions. He is projected to be one of the top three quarterbacks available.
