Lawrence E. Unfried 78, of Belle Rive, Illinois passed away Friday, January 9, 2026 at Linda White Hospice, Evansville, Indiana. Larry was born June 29, 1947 in McLeansboro, IL. He was a son of Joseph Unfried and Frances Mary (Baumann) Unfried. On August 17, 1968 he married Joanne Catherine (Marski) Unfried and she survives.
Larry was a member of St. Clements Catholic Church, McLeansboro. He loved bike riding, cross country skiing, antiquing and “junking” and putting picture puzzles together. Larry was a retired teacher.
Survivors include his wife Joanne, daughter Amy Catherine Unfried, Crainville, IL, sisters Evalena Theresa Unfried, McLeansboro, Leona Pauline Unfried, Alto, Michigan and Marian Eileen Kiefer, Belle Rive, IL.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Joseph Eugene Unfried.
Visitation for Lawrence Unfried will be Wednesday, January 14, 2026 from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro with burial to follow at St. Clements Catholic Cemetery, McLeansboro with Father Tom Barrett officiant.
Memorials may be given to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and left at the funeral Home.
