Linda Kay (Austin) Holder, 74, of McLeansboro, IL passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026 at Fox Meadows Supportive Living in McLeansboro. She was born on November 26, 1951 in Mt. Vernon, IL to Jabez & Mabel Austin. On January 17, 1975, she married Loy Allen Holder, Sr. who preceded her in death.
Linda was a homemaker and also mowed lawns for extra money. She enjoyed attending church and special church functions at the Free Will Baptist Church in O’Kean, Arkansas. She enjoyed mowing, reading, doing puzzles, playing bingo and playing Wii bowling. She loved the outdoors and she loved animals. She owned several pets over the years. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends & family.
Linda is survived by her son Loy Allen Holder, Jr.; sister Maxine Sork, sister Sharon Depew (and husband Ballard); brother David Austin (and wife Luisa); sister Jean Putnam, sister Alanna Moehn, brother Loy Austin, brother Lloyd Austin; and several nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jabez & Mabel Austin, her husband Loy Allen Holder Sr.; her son Gregg Lee Holder, and brother Cyrus Austin.
Local funeral services for Linda Kay (Austin) Holder will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Pastor Jacob Gray officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. A graveside funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Randolph Memorial Gardens in Pocahontas, Arkansas followed by interment.
