OVEN FIRE QUICKLY EXTINGUISHED AT FAIRFIELD RESIDENCE

The Fairfield City Fire Department and Fairfield Rural Fire were called to a residence in the 800 block of East Douglas Street Monday night at 6:21 p.m. following a report of a kitchen fire.

According to fire officials, the caller reported a meat loaf on fire inside an oven and was unable to extinguish the flames. Firefighters arrived on scene and were able to quickly put out the oven fire.

Smoke filled the residence, and firefighters worked to ventilate the home and remove the smoke. No injuries were reported, and there was no structural damage to the residence.
