FAIRFIELD FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORTS 480 INCIDENTS IN 2025, MAJORITY EMS ASSISTS

The Fairfield Fire Department, under Fire Chief Andrew Miller, released its 2025 annual summary, highlighting a total of 480 emergency responses throughout the year. The report reflects the wide range of emergencies handled by the department, with Emergency Medical Service (EMS) assists making up the largest portion of calls.

According to Chief Miller, the department responded to 345 EMS assist calls, showing the critical role firefighters play in medical emergencies. In addition, firefighters addressed 16 structure fires, 3 cooking fires, 2 trash fires, 1 vehicle fire, and 2 grass fires. The department also responded to 16 gas leaks, 16 carbon monoxide (CO) calls, 3 elevator emergencies, and 26 automatic alarms.

Other incidents included 16 motor vehicle crashes, 3 excessive heat situations, 2 electrical issues, and singular responses to a chemical spill, person in distress, agency assistance, and public service request. The department also managed 9 unauthorized burns, 8 dispatched and cancelled calls, 7 smoke scares, and 1 case each of no incident found and public service.

Chief Miller commended his team for their professionalism and swift response to each emergency, emphasizing the importance of community safety and continued preparedness.
