FAIRFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASES 2025 YEAR-END SUMMARY

The Fairfield Police Department has released its 2025 year-end summary, highlighting the department’s activity and collaboration with local agencies.

According to Police Chief, Ben Lewis, Wayne County 911 operated through the Fairfield Police Department Dispatch Center provided critical support throughout the year, handling an impressive 32,288 phone calls in 2025. The center also dispatched 14,051 calls for service, serving not only Fairfield but also Wayne County agencies.

The breakdown of calls for service in 2025 includes:

10,023 law enforcement dispatches (Fairfield PD and Wayne County Sheriff’s Office)

2,213 EMS calls (All Agencies)

1,002 fire calls (All Agencies)

718 Completed by Dispatcher

Dispatchers also handled approximately 610,000 radio communications and logged over 3,456 hours of radio traffic.

In addition to dispatch operations, the Fairfield Police Department responded to 5,830 calls for service, 148 arrests, 114 criminal citations, 1,385 traffic stops and 568 traffic citations.

Chief Lewis expressed his gratitude to the dedicated staff of the police department and dispatch center, emphasizing their commitment to public service. “I am proud of all of their efforts and dedication to making Fairfield a safer and more secure place to live and work,” Lewis stated. He also extended his thanks to the community for their continued support.
