Wayne City village trustees during their meeting recently adopted three resolutions, including the formal adoption of Wayne County’s Hazard Mitigation Plan. The plan details countywide risk assessments and strategies aimed at reducing the impact of natural hazards. With its adoption, Wayne City remains eligible for key state and federal disaster mitigation and recovery programs.

The meeting’s agenda was otherwise light, featuring a presentation from Sue Meyers and Julia Brumfield regarding a building on West Section Line Road. Trustees also reviewed quotes for ammunition for Police Chief, Jason Settle and considered the potential purchase of used equipment for municipal purposes, as brought forward by Trustee Steve Buxton. These items were discussed, but no formal board action was taken at the meeting.
