Rend Lake College is set to celebrate a major milestone for its campus and athletic programs with the grand opening of the new Banterra Sports Complex next month. The college will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. at its Ina campus, officially introducing the $6.5 million upgraded facility to the public.
The Banterra Sports Complex features significant renovations and additions, including a new main entrance and lobby, updated concessions, a modern training room, and new restrooms. The existing 32,000-square-foot facility has also been enhanced with digital scoreboards, an upgraded scorer’s bench, renovated locker rooms, expanded office space, and additional improvements.
Following the ribbon cutting, guests will have the opportunity to tour the state-of-the-art complex and experience the new home of Rend Lake College athletics. Refreshments will be served during the open house.
The celebration will continue that evening as the college’s women’s and men’s basketball teams play their first games in the new Waugh Gymnasium, starting at 5:30 p.m. Admission to both games is free.
