The Board of Trustees of the Illinois Eastern Community College District No. 529 met Tuesday at Lincoln Trail College in Robinson, Illinois. During the meeting, Program Director of Institutional Assessment & Effectiveness Brandon Weger introduced a new governance-focused Key Performance Indicator framework. This framework is designed to organize Board-level questions around the college’s four institutional pillars and connect those questions to clear performance areas and initial metrics, aiming to guide accountability and planning.
The Board approved minutes from its December 9th meetings and moved forward with several new agreements. This includes an agreement with Southern Illinois University for the continuation of the Motorcycle Rider Program, as well as affiliation agreements with Crawford County Cares and the Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia.
In policy action, the Board waived a second reading to approve two new policies. The Employee Code of Conduct Policy aims to strengthen governance and promote consistent expectations across the district, while the Employee Disciplinary Policy supports corrective action and protects both employee rights and institutional interests.
The Board also approved proposed transfer pathways, an important step in the district’s transition to a Guided Pathways model, which will offer clearer routes and stronger support for students starting in Fall 2026.
In personnel matters, Ronald Banta was hired as Maintenance Worker and O&M Team Lead at Olney Central College, effective January 26th. The Board also ratified the resignations of Avery Miller, Custodian at OCC, and Cori Stringfellow, Nursing Instructor at Wabash Valley College.
The next regular meeting of the Board of Trustees will be Tuesday, February 17th, at 6:15 p.m. at Olney Central College in Olney.
