James “Frog” Spruell, 84, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Cypress Grove Rehabilitation Center in Newburgh, Indiana. He was born on Friday, May 16, 1941, in Grayville, Illinois, the son of Harry Armor and Ruth Nora (Reid) Spruell. Jim proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He worked in maintenance at Whirlpool in Evansville for many years. Jim enjoyed reading and spending time with his family and friends.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Glenna Jean Spruell of Fairfield, IL; two grandchildren; siblings, Letha (Jack) Harris, Tom Spruell, David (Cannie) Spruell, Rosalie Spruell and William Spruell; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael Spruell; siblings Sam Spruell, Mary Crackel and Jerry Spruell.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the Grayville chapel at Roberts and Cook Funeral Service. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville following services. Funeral services have been entrusted to Roberts and Cook Funeral Service.
