The IAA Foundation, the charitable arm of the Illinois Farm Bureau, has announced that more than $340,000 in scholarships are now available to agriculture students and members of the Illinois Farm Bureau (IFB), including their spouses and dependents.

“Offering scholarships that encourage students to explore degrees in agriculture related fields is a privilege,” said Jennifer Smith, IAA Foundation development manager. “It is imperative that future agriculture leaders receive financial support so they can focus on their education and begin to build their career in agriculture.”

Applications are open for a wide range of financial awards, such as the newly established Gene A. Daiber Scholarship, J. Lloyd and Elizabeth Broaddus Jones Scholarship, Joe and Sue Summerville Scholarship, Kenneth and Kay Engle Agriculture Scholarship, Pat Oaks Memorial Scholarship, and Paul Meints Scholarship. The IAA Foundation also distributes scholarships on behalf of Prairie Farms Dairy, Illinois Pork Producers Association, and several family scholarships created to honor legacies within the agriculture community.

Scholarships will be granted based on criteria including involvement in extracurricular activities, community service, academic performance, leadership experience, and a required essay. Previous recipients of IAA Foundation scholarships are welcome to reapply, depending on individual scholarship guidelines.

A complete list of scholarships and eligibility requirements is available at www.iaafoundation.org. Applications must be submitted online by February 15th. For additional information, interested parties can contact their county Farm Bureau, call the IAA Foundation at 309-557-2232, or email Jennifer Smith at jsmith@ilfb.org.
