The Illinois Wheat Association (IWA) hosted its annual Winter Wheat Double Crop Forum at Rend Lake College last week, bringing together farmers from across the state to share knowledge, discuss new research, and explore advancements in the industry. The event provided attendees with valuable opportunities to learn about the latest developments in wheat production and strategies for achieving more successful crops.
A highlight of the forum was a panel discussion featuring producers from various regions of Illinois. The panelists shared their production practices and answered questions from the audience on timely topics, including the ongoing drought and techniques for increasing yields.
The forum also marked a transition in IWA leadership. Trace Heuerman of Effingham County was elected as the new president. Joining him are vice-president John Ernst of Madison County, secretary Nick Frederking of Washington County, and treasurer Nick Pingsterhaus of Clinton County. Darren Lewis of Clay County and Hayden Byars of Wayne County were newly elected to the board.
