Reports out of Marion County say two Centralia men have been sentenced to prison and charged in separate cases dealing with child pornography and child sexual abuse material charges.

In Marion County Court, 39 year old Thomas Jones was sentenced to 15 years each on two Class X counts of child pornography after entering a negotiated guilty plea.  Under state law the sentences must run consecutively.  As part of the plea, two other counts of Class X child pornography were dropped.  Jones will also have to be on mandatory supervised release from three years to life following the prison sentence.

58 year old Michael Greer, who reports say has also lived in the Salem and Effingham areas, has been formally charged in Marion County Court with five counts of child sexual abuse material, each a Class X charge.  Greer is accused of having possession and disseminating videos of a child under the age of 13 engaging in a sex act.

During a first appearance in court Thursday, Greer was ordered to be held without bond until a preliminary hearing, set for February 17th.
