WAYNE COUNTY 4-H CONTINUES SPARK AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM IN FAIRFIELD AND WAYNE CITY

By Mark Wells Feb 5, 2026 | 5:55 AM

The Wayne County 4-H program is continuing its new Spark After School program in both Fairfield and Wayne City, offering local youth the opportunity to discover new interests and hobbies outside of school hours. Launched in January, Spark After School will run through early spring and is open to all students in second through eighth grades—no 4-H membership required.

Each month, the program features a different engaging topic and hands-on activity designed to help youth explore hobbies, potential careers, or 4-H project areas. To celebrate American Heart Month, February’s sessions will focus on the health 4-H project and include a heart suncatcher craft. Upcoming topics for the remaining programs will introduce students to aerospace and the science behind creating magical swimming fish.

In Fairfield, Spark After School will take place at the Wayne County Extension Office, 2B Frontier Dr., from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. on February 18th, March 18th, and April 15th.

In Wayne City, sessions will be held at the Wayne City Community Building, 103 E. Mill St., from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. on February 11th and March 11th.
