ANOTHER FUNDRAISER LAUNCHED FOR FAIRFIELD STUDENT MARCUS DRAPER

By Mark Wells Feb 9, 2026 | 5:59 AM

The Fairfield community is coming together to support Marcus Draper, a freshman at Fairfield Community High School, who was recently diagnosed with B cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Marcus is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital, facing a challenging road ahead.

To assist with the medical expenses and support Marcus’s family, Gracie Toombs, a sophomore at the high school, has organized another special fundraiser. Gracie is raffling off a beautiful waving flag that she made as part of her 4H project. She originally created the flag for the state fair, and now she is donating it for a chance for someone to win the flag.

All proceeds from the raffle will go directly to Marcus and his family to help with expenses related to his illness. The flag measures 37 inches wide by 22 inches tall.

Tickets for the fundraiser will be available through March 9th and are $5 each. Those interested in supporting Marcus can purchase tickets from Gracie, Jana or Dustin Toombs, Brenda Warren at Jenny’s Cottage Salon, Everlasting Florals, or reach out to them on Facebook.

Also, fellow FCHS students, Torrie Attebury and Mya Crippen are selling raffle tickets for a chance to win one of 25 assorted gift cards.  Tickets are available for $1 each or six for $5 with all proceeds going directly to Marcus and his family.  Anyone interested in purchasing these raffle tickets may reach out to Torrie or Mya on Facebook for tickets and or more information.

The community is encouraged to participate and show their support for Marcus during this difficult time.
