By Mark Wells Feb 14, 2026 | 11:07 AM

The Edwards County Farm Bureau Young Leaders will host their annual Scholarship Trap Shoot on Saturday, March 7th at the Edwards County Sportsman’s Club. The event begins at 9:00am and raises important funds for the Young Leader Scholarship fund and welcomes shooters of all ages and skill levels.

This year’s trap shoot features two separate team competitions. The first is for premade teams of five, with an entry fee of $100 per team. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged, and shoot times will be assigned. Payment is due at registration. Prizes for premade teams are $250 for first place, $200 for second, and $150 for third.

The second competition is a random draw, with teams formed by drawing names the day of the event at 11:30 a.m. Anyone wishing to participate pays a $20 entry fee, and teams of five are drawn from a hat. Prizes for the random draw are $200 for first place and $150 for second.

Returning this year is a special $200 prize for a team made up of shooters ages 18 and under. There will also be two individual prizes of $25 each: one for the most birds shot by a person not on a winning premade team, and one for the least birds shot by a person on any team. Each team will shoot one round of single trap and one round of 5-stand per person, per team. Shooters may compete on as many teams as they wish, with an entry fee required for each round. Lunch will be available for purchase. All are welcome, from novice to advanced shooters.
